Welcome
From Orlando Fl |

Ted Torres |
|
Ted Torres is a singer/songwriter/musician from Orlando,
Florida. His music is true to his roots.
Growing up in a family with two professional
musicians as parents influenced Ted a great deal to choose this path. He
started learning how to play different instruments which included:
guitar, bass, classical violin ,and piano.

Ted was greatly inspired by old country like Johnny
Cash, Hank Williams and fifties acts such as Ricky Nelson, The Everly
Brothers, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis. He was especially influenced
by Elvis Presley.
Ted strives to maintain a warm, vintage style with a lot
of heart and feeling when it comes to the music. He can't think of anything
else he would rather do. The important thing for Ted is that his music
really touches people where he feel it matters most, on a soulful level the
same way he believes Elvis felt. From the first time Ted saw “Jailhouse
Rock” at the age of 12, he knew he was going to be a fan for life.

For some reason after learning more about Elvis' life he could identify with
him because of similar situations in their lives; the way they grew up, an
overprotective mother, being loners and just obsessing over music. Not to
mention the greasy pompadour that he got teased for in school. Elvis' music
has always meant a lot to Ted and it inspired him to pursue his music career
and also to entertain as an Elvis performer.
Every time Ted hears Elvis' music it makes him want to
pursue his dream even more. When he is lonely, sad or unhappy he can
just put on one of Elvis' songs and feel like he has a friend. It
has always been like that.
Now he tries to make his fans feel the same way when he performs for
them.
Ted has been lucky enough to travel and perform
in Memphis for Elvis Week for the last five years at various venues and
events; also in California and various places around Florida. He has
been able to perform in front of celebrities from the Elvis world, some
of which he is very lucky to call his friends including: Nurse Marian
Cocke, Knox Phillips, D.J. Fontana (whom he has shared the stage with),
Gordon Stoker and Jerry Schilling.

Ted's goal is to help Elvis fans relive that time in which
he was at his best - bringing them that raw, sexual energy and magnetism he
had but at the same time capturing his shyness and county boy charm. And if
he can walk out of a show knowing that he has turned some of the younger
generation into Elvis fans then Ted knows he is doing is job.
Ted thinks that by being an Elvis fan first and an
entertainer second has given him a good understanding of what the fans
really want and is able to get that point across.
He hopes he can help people relive those memories when a
poor boy from Tupelo, Mississippi conquered both Memphis and the world with
his music.
As Elvis once said, “Until we meet you again,
may God bless you. Adios.”
