Elvis Memories

Jay Banes as Elvis Presley

 

 

 

Jay Barnes, a native of Tampa Florida began his career at the ripe old age of 11. Jay’s soloist career began at the age of 23 performing gospel and secular concerts at state fairs and other venues.

 

He was fortunate to be an understudy of Bill Baize of the original Stamps Quartet. The Stamps was Elvis’s last back up group. In 1193 Jay performed in a major karaoke contest winning it. This event lead Jay in a new career direction.

In 1994 he became affiliated with St Charles productions, a local production company owned by Nancy St. Charles, a former New York performer.
Through her guidance Jay has been able to perform in various USO shows.   His performance include performing for General James Jones ,the former Commandant of the Marine Corps. In Washington D.C. Other military venues include Lieutenant General Martin Berndt (USMC) and the pre-commissioning gala for the aircraft USS Reagan , were Vice President Dick Cheney, Nancy Reagan and other high ranking officials in the US Government.

Also present other performers such as Lee Greenwood, Bo Derek, Chuck Norris, and Regis.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Jay also does work for K&M Productions. This connection allowed Jay to perform in Hawaii on two different occasions.
 

Jay never met Elvis personally, but was afforded the opportunity to attend one of his concerts.


Jay now lives in Jacksonville, NC with his wife and daughter. He performs throughout the Unites States bringing back memories of Elvis.
