Jay was born and raised in Rochester, New York, as Christopher Spraggins.

mid 70’s and 80’s Christopher wrote, produced and performed such
regional hits as “Fools Love”, “Madness”, and “Silver Black Summer
Day”, recorded on his label and the Cleveland Unlimited label in
Cleveland, Ohio. Since then Christopher has performed and worked with
such noticeable artists as Herb Hancock and the Ohio Players, the
Commodores, Black Ivory, Ike and Tina Turner, the Platters, Little
Anthony and the Imperials and others. |
